Julie Bulmer – BA (Hons) MA

Julie completed an MA in Law in 2003 and then qualified as a solicitor in 2005. She joined Howells in 2005 to specialise in children law. Julie is a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children.

 

 

Sarah EvansSarah Evans – LL.B (Hons)

Doug Leach LLB (Hons) MA

With more than 30 years’ experience, Doug was admitted as a solicitor in 1978 and specialises in children’s matters, especially care proceedings and adoption and has worked for both local authorities and in private practice.

He is a member of the Law Society Children Panel, the Association of Lawyers for Children and the British Association for Adoption and Fostering.

  

 

John McSweeneyJohn McSweeney BA (Hons) MA

John is a highly experienced family solicitor, specializing in childcare and education cases. Formerly a youth worker and community worker, John was admitted as a solicitor in 1994.

Julie MundayJulie Munday – BA (Hons)

Julie worked as a welfare rights officer and in training and education for more than a decade before joining Howells on a training contract in 2000. She was appointed as a solicitor on completion of her training contract in 2002.

Sarah Peart – BA (Hons)

A graduate in Law and Criminology, Sarah qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and joined Howells in 2005, following two years’ working as a family lawyer with a Leeds-based firm. Sarah now specialises in children law and is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and the Association of Lawyers for Children.

 

Sarah Walker – LL.B (Hons)

Sarah was admitted as a solicitor in 1997, having begun her legal career as a paralegal. Having specialised in family law since 2001, Sarah joined Howells LLP in 2004. She is a member of the Law Society Children Panel, the Law Society Family Law Panel and the Association of Lawyers for Children.

Karen MurphyKaren Murphy

Legal executive Karen Murphy joined the firm as a secretary in 2001. Following promotion to a paralegal position, she was the youngest person in Sheffield ever to become a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.

Chris PatrickChris Patrick – LL.B (Hons)

Based at our Rotherham office, Chris is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel, which means he is able to specialise in public law proceedings representing children and other parties under the Children Act 1989.

He was admitted as a solicitor in 1994 and has a decade’s experience as a family law specialist.
