Danny Simpson, BA (Hons Oxon)

Head of department Danny Simpson was a partner at Bindmans and Partners before moving to Howells in 1990.

His particular specialisms include white collar crime, miscarriages of justice and public order. Recognised for many years by the Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession as a leading individual in the field, Danny is a committee member of the Criminal Law Solicitors Association.

Michael McColgan, BA (Hons)

Michael completed his articles at B.M.Birnberg and Co, where he worked with Gareth Pierce and Paul Boateng. He joined Howells in 2000 and specialises in miscarriages of justice, human rights and civil liberties and prisoners’ rights.

Michael is a member of the Lawyers’ Panel of the International federation of Human Rights and of the National Council for Civil Liberties.
